Darchrow’s Corner : Fenrir Bow (Fimbul) and Stamina

Hello, all.

It is time to explain briefly about Stamina and the potential of the Bow from Fenrir.

Firstly, I would like to explain how stamina works. Stamina is the inverse of Enmity in its effect. It gives higher damage at higher health values, lower damage at lower health values. An important nuance here however is that Stamina functions differently to Enmity in that Stamina scales linearly, whilst Enmity doesn’t. This allows for Strength to scale slightly better at lower health values, whilst Enmity spikes very high but starts off low.

How Stamina scales so far is as follows:

Modifier at 100% Health (Approximate)
Skill level 5 10%
Skill level 10 20%
Skill level 15 23%

Due to linear scaling, 50% Health gives half as much as 100% Health (pretty self-explanatory).

Similar to Enmity, Stamina also has its own unique modifier separate from Attack and Enmity. So your new weapon calculation now is a mixture of Enmity, Stamina and Attack.

Similar to OLD Enmity calculations, Stamina has a MINIMUM of 10% damage boost at skill level 15. This is approximately at around 45% Health. Therefore you will not lose any additional benefit from falling below 45% Health.

Now I would like to go back to basics again, and look at only modifiers to judge the potential for these weapons. I will assume all skill level 15 here for calculation and will not account for Base Damage. Note that Fimbul’s Max Damage is 2,370 at level 150.

In this section I will detail all weapons considered in the build and something called a ‘Bowless Modifier’ which is the Modifiers before accounting for Bows and ‘Health Cut-off’ which is the minimum Health needed to have you exceed a traditional build without bows.

Note: These modifiers are considered using Marius only (80%) as a base, with the assumption of elemental advantage. Bowless Modifiers consider weapons and Elemental advantage only.

Conclusion:

Based on modifiers only, Leviathan builds can usually fit in 1-3 Bows in their grid, replacing unknowns and some daggers in their pool. Using a Fenrir Bow this way, will remove some Cosmos Synergy you have, so make sure you run some checks yourself on what you are willing to take away from your grid.

As for how many Bows you want, simply look at the builds and health ranges and decide for yourself. I would personally go for two if I was to be using Leviathan.

Conclusion:

Due to the Bow being boosted by Varuna by 220%. The Bow is a must have in anyone’s Varuna Build. Even at minimum value of 10%, you gain the most benefit from having three / four Bows in your pool. This is of course, discounting the Bow’s slightly weak stats, hence the number in actuality could be smaller.

Anything beyond five bows will give you diminishing returns and is not recommended in either case.

In this scenario, Double Varuna looks to be a very strong alternative with a heavy bow build, having little penalty from being at minimum health. This build feels to be the most lucrative, mixing with weapons such as Fenrir Axe or Auberon to boost DA rates and Critical in the case of Auberon.

Mixing the damage from the Stamina modifier, you can use weaker weapons such as Fenrir Axe and Auberon (which only have small attack bonuses), and capitalise on the secondary skill DA and DA + Crit respectively.

I would personally seek around two to three Bows in this scenario due to the base damage differences. Four Bows is an admirable goal if you plan to cover all your bases from this event.

Conclusion:

Elemental Builds are slightly more compatible with the Bows than Leviathan, using Double Bonito with Bows is an option that can be considered.

Two to three bows would be suitable for such a build, and you do not have to consider losing Cosmos Synergy in anyway.

Now that I have looked a bit at the numbers of the weapon and its skill. I hope people can at least get a rough idea of how many Bows they want to farm from the current event.

Happy hunting.
